When teeth are cracked, weak, broken or decayed extensively, have had a root canal, or better esthetics are desired, a crown may be recommended to restore form, function and appearance. Crowns may be made of a full cast gold alloy, porcelain fused to gold alloy, full ceramic, zirconia or porcelain fused to zirconia. Our doctors will recommend the best type of crown for your situation. This procedure is a two step process: the tooth is prepared for the crown in the first appointment and the crown is delivered in the second appointment.

Inlays and Onlays

Made of porcelain or cast gold, inlays and onlays are recommended when a tooth does not have enough tooth structure for a filling, but does not yet require a crown. Like a crown, inlays and onlays are two appointment procedures.

Veneers

Porcelain veneers are thin facings that are bonded to the front teeth. Veneers are available to patients who desire an esthetic enhancement to their front teeth. Veneers are also a conservative approach to restoring wear on the biting edges of the teeth in patients who do not brux or grind their teeth.

Fixed Bridge

Fixed bridges are a restorative option for patients with missing teeth. Fixed bridges attach to healthy teeth on either side of a one or more missing teeth.

Dental Implants

Implants are surgically placed titanium fixtures used to replace single or multiple teeth. We partner with oral surgeons and periodontists in the area who surgically place the implants and refer patients back to our office for the restoration of the implant. The implant itself replaces the root structure of the tooth. Special components called abutments attach to the implant, and crowns and/or bridges are made to fit the abutments. Implants are also utilized in securing removable partial dentures or complete dentures.

Removable Partial Dentures

Commonly made of cast metal and processed acrylic, removable partial dentures replace missing teeth. A removable partial denture is supported by the remaining healthy teeth and the ridge of bone where there are teeth missing. RPDs may be retained by metal or tooth colored clasps to the healthy anchor teeth or by precision attachments within a crown or an implant. RPDs are taken in and out of the mouth.

Complete Dentures

For the completely edentulous patient, dentures are made of processed acrylic to replace teeth and are supported by the palate and ridge of bone on the maxilla and by the ridge of bone on the mandible. Implant support is highly recommended for retention and stability of complete dentures, especially in cases where there is little support from the edentulous bony ridge.

Teeth Whitening

If you are hoping to brighten your smile, our office offers custom bleaching trays that can be used on your personal schedule. We offer different strengths of Opalescence products to meet individual needs. In office teeth whitening is also available.

Mouth guards

Northlake Dental Partners offers mouth guards for our patients’ different needs: sports mouth guards, snore guards, and occlusal guards for periodontal patients. Tanner appliances are fabricated for patients experiencing temporomandibular disorders and/or clenching and grinding.
